HD on the Rise in 2008

I just received a reply from Brian Anderson, Brewers play by play announcer on FSN Wisconsin and fellow blogger, that the number of games being broadcast in HD in 2008 has been increased dramatically.

I will quote the e-mail directly to make sure I do not misrepresent what he said, "The best I can come up with is “most” home games will be in HD. The goal is "all" home games which FSN is prepared to do but it depends on truck availability. Some of these trucks we lease to do the broadcast are not HD capable but that is only in a rare instance."

For Brewers fans with HD, this is great news to say the least. If you do not have an HD TV, go buy one before the season, because there is nothing quite like the Milwaukee Brewers in high definition.

In related news, Brian also informed me that "it was announced that four Saturday games have been designated as part of the national FOX Television package and have been moved to afternoon start times. This includes May 10 vs. St. Louis at 2:45 p.m., May 17 at Boston at 2:55 p.m., August 2 at Atlanta at 2:55 p.m. and September 13 at Philadelphia at 2:55 p.m." These games, along with games broadcast on ESPN, will only add to the number of games being offered in HD.

Thanks for the info, BA!
